“Ground-Breaking” Water Test Win Multiple Industry Awards

ProCheck®, ADEY’s new and innovative digital water test, has been named ‘Best Business Product’ at the Housebuilder Product Awards and ‘Domestic Product of the Year’ at the HVR Awards, and was Highly Commended in the ‘Domestic HVAC Product of the Year’ category at the H&V News Awards. And there are more possible wins in the pipeline – ProCheck is also in the running as a finalist in the ‘Product of Year’ category at the Housebuilder Awards, and the launch campaign is shortlisted in both the Construction Marketing Awards and The Drum Awards, all of which will be announced later in the month.

ProCheck is a quick, easy, and cost-effective solution for heating engineers to test and monitor water quality in heating systems. The test is the first of its kind for the industry, helping to make the invisible sludge problem visible with instant on-site results for inhibitor, corrosion & pH.

Sean Payne of S Payne Plumbing and Heating was one of the first installers to get hold of an ADEY ProCheck Kit® and hasn’t looked back since. “It’s ground-breaking” he said, “there’s no other product on the market like it at the moment. You can see exactly what’s going on with the system in an instant and, best of all, you can also show the results to the customer to help them understand.”

Despite only being launched last year, ProCheck has made significant waves in the industry, with more than 50,000 test results recorded to date. It scooped it’s third industry award at the Heating & Ventilating News Awards at the Hilton Park Lane in London, UK.

Sean Adams of Warburton Building Services was responsible for recording the 20,000th ProCheck test result, saying: “Using ProCheck has certainly made a difference to the way we work. We deal with new build developers so can have several properties being worked on at any one time. We need to be able to show the heating system has been dosed correctly and to the manufacturers’ guidelines from the outset and using ProCheck means the team can do the test and the results can be filed instantly.”

To use, installers simply take a water sample from the heating system and using the dedicated test strips supplied, scan these against a unique test card via the ADEY ProCheck App to receive instant results, including measuring for inhibitors, corrosion, and pH levels.

This provides engineers with speedy, independently verifiable, lab-style water system information on site, helping to satisfy industry standards and benchmark requirements when commissioning new boilers, and meet regulatory responsibilities.

ProCheck has also recently been recognised by the UK’s top boiler manufacturers as a best practice tool for testing water quality.

Matt Webber, CEO at ADEY, said: “We are thrilled with the success of ProCheck since its launch in late 2020.

“Poor water quality contributes to 60% of boiler breakdowns, and whilst most boiler engineers will be clued up on the signs and symptoms of a contaminated water system, up until now there hasn’t been a quick and easy way to verify the issue.

“Many installers are now using the technology to change the way they do business, and it is allowing them to enhance service standards. It enables installers to drive compliance across all sectors as well as raising water quality standards and opening conversations with homeowners on the benefits of effective water treatment, including system cleansing and installing magnet filtration.”
